Easi to fit seems to work reduces the crud being thrown under the sadle and protects the shock from the crud too.

I dont really leave reviews but thought that I should share my experience to make other aware of a potential issue. I've got to say, I am a little disappointed with this Mudsling given the price I paid for a piece of plastic. I bought my bike in December and it came fitted with standard road profile tyres (ContiRoadAttack 3). The Mudsling I was advised should be one of the first purchases to protect the innards of the bike and I've had it fitted for little over a month. Only this evening I decided to move the bike out of the garage (I've not riden it yet) to wash it and heard an awful grinding sound only to find that the rear tyre was scraping on the surface of the Mudsling. The deflector has been fitted as per the guidelines and has been double and triple checked (I am an engineer). I've seen a number of reports of this issue and I am begrudged to cut 2.5 inches off of the lower edge of this to stop the rubbing, especially given that I spent £189 for the front and rear combo. I have got some 50/50 tyres waiting to be fitted in the form of Mitas E07+ (Dakar) and these will burn straight through the plastic and probably end up destroying the deflector. Thoroughly disappointed at wasting £189 on slightly misshapen piece of plastic. Just be aware that this could be an issue and worthy of checking when fitted. NN SAYS This comes up with 1 in 500 customers and there seems to be tight tolerances on some bikes from the factory. We emailed Damian and he said: "I managed to sort the rubbing issue and followed the advice on the MachineArt website by installing a 4mm rubber washer to the plastic box section which houses the electrics (under the seat). This allowed the mudsling to move forward (ever so slightly) and thus stop it from rubbing in my road tyres."

Easy to fit, performs it's function of suppressing spray and keeping suspension clean extremely well. Should have been a standard fit by BMW. Buy it.

Excellent product, my 4th or 5th Mudsling from NN over many years. Please don't be fooled by Chinese copies on ebay for £60. These are poor quality plastic and a very poor fit! Even the plastic ties are substandard! Sadly I found out the hard way! Remember £150 for your Mudsling is not excessive for putting on a £20k motorcycle!

Looks like a good investment so far little bit close to the tyre though may have an issue if off road tyres were fitted

Fantastic product. Covers a larger area than I expected. Genius design, the way it integrates with the little fender provided by BMW as standard. Simple to fit, and really secure.

Excellent product, easy installation, fitted in 5 minutes. This product will protect the expensive shockers and clothing, a must for anyone that owns a GSA. Should be on every BMW bike as standard. Protect your investment and fit one now!

This Mudsling should really be a standard item for a GS/GSA. Not just saving muddy trousers and caked on mud on the rear shock. Partially as the rear suspension is prone to failure. Excellent bit of kit, easy to fit. Would give more than 5* if possible.

Very easy to fit and effective. would have preferred a different fixing rather than cable ties for something at this cost

Definitely does what it says on the tin. I had previously bought a very expensive carbon fibre hugger which, I found to my disappointment, bid not cover suspension "bits". What a waste of money. Thanks for nothing Ilmberger, the hugger for pre LC worked a treat.

The Musling was very easy to attach to the bike and the fit was perfect as if it was an Original Manufacturers part. It provides good cover for the rear shock. I've not yet ridden the bike in the rain so will have to wait and see how it performs.

After a winter ride resulted in the dirtiest bike ever and wet and dirty boots and legs I took the plunge and ordered a Mudsling. Fitting - simple, takes a few minutes Appearance - looks discreet, fits well. Should have been fitted by BMW from the outset Effectiveness - works a treat, bike and rider much cleaner Price - Oh dear me, why so expensive for a piece of injection moulded plastic? Four stars instead of five due to the cost of the item

Brilliant Fit. On the bike in 5 mins. While driving in muddy wet local country roads it really has been put to the test in terms of how it protects the shock and I can say it works brilliantly. Must have item for your LC GS.

Excellent quality product. Simple to fit. Product comes with all parts requied to fit and adequate instructions if required. Although expensive worth the purchase price to prevent contamination of the rear shock and dirt spraying over the bike and backs of the riders legs.

Pleased with fit, you would hardly know it is on the bike, very easy to install. It will definately keep the rear shock surrounding area cleaner. It may seem expensive but when you compare it to other manufacturers products it is comparable. Like all branded goods if you change your bike at a later date it will be easy to re-coup some of the original cost outlay. Overall very satisfied shame it was not available before winter.

As others have said, easy to fit, and the cable ties secure it very well. Not too sue if there's enough room for a set of knobblies, but time will tell.

This is the the third Machineart Moto Mudsling fitted to my bikes owned (prev F800GS and a 2010 R1200GS). Rate them highly for quality and effectiveness. Really good at keeping water and mud off your feet, luggage and lower shock/spring mount. Fitting takes all of 5 minutes and looks neat and unobtrusive. In short, very happy with the purchase and fully endorse the product. Lastly, service from Nippy Normans is first class...

Mudsling have surpassed themselves with this version. It fits perfectly is easy to fit and looks good, whether it prevents the spray hitting the back of my legs is yet to be discovered. The downside is that it is a bit pricey, but what isn't these days?

Just received and fitted this today. Another excellent piece of kit and very straight forward to fit. I don't know why BMW don't fit them as standard.
