THE PROBLEM
The R1300 Adventure is factory equipped with a single USB (not fast charge) inside the storage compartment on top of the fuel tank. If one wishes to use the smartphone mounted on the handlebar this solution is not ergonomically viable because the lid cover cannot be closed due to the charging cable. This solution from Nippy Normans solves this problem by installing the FAST CHARGE Dual USB-A and USB-C socket on the right side of the TFT display, in place of the DIN socket.
Additionally the kit includes the hardware to relocate the removed DIN socket below the seat on the right frame fairing.
A custom-designed mounting plate is supplied with the kit to mount the socket, as well as a cable harness for battery connection.
A detailed installation booklet is supplied with the kit.
HERE IS THE SOLUTION
The DIN socket on the right side of the TFT display is replaced with our state-of-the-art FAST CHARGE dual socket charger featuring USB-A and USB-C sockets. (The original BMW USB socket in the cupboard is single USB-A and NOT fast charge)
The BMW OE DIN socket is then installed below the bikes seat providing a neat solution for the common use of this socket such as charging/maintaining the Lithium battery or when using heated vests and other accessories.
