The Garmin 595 does not have the brightest of screens and as such the sun has a very negative effect on viewing the screen. This device does not eliminate viewing issues but it does help.

I purchased due to the poor sunlight readability of Garmin screens (the touch screen technology is different to a phone because it needs to work with gloves). Unfortunately whilst it helps a little, the reflectivity of the screen still causes some difficultly in bright sunlight. It is however rock solid when attached and doesn’t add too much bulk to your cockpit. The flaw is with the screen not this device which does the best it can.

After a very long delay some one has at long last brought out a sun shade for my Garmin Zumo 590LM. Admittedly Wunderlich have designed it to fit the new Garmin 595 but as both satnav body’s are the same it fits the older 595LM just as well. Im very happy, it’s a great fit as it uses the curved shape and natural spring off the plastic too grip the rubber around the Zumo and can be taken off easily as and when needed. Robert Wallis.
