The radiator hose heat shield has two important functions. It protects the water hose itself from the heat radiation of the manifold and it reduces the risk of the cooling water being additionally (unnecessarily) heated up by the radiant heat of the manifold.

Why This Inconspicuous Part Matters
The return hose, which carries the chilled water out of the radiator and back to the engine, passes within an inch of the front cylinder's exhaust manifold. The manifold, which is not in the cooling air stream but in the lee of the cooler, can therefore not dissipate the heat through convection, but only through radiation. Due to the close spatial proximity, the thermal radiation hits the water cooler hose in particular.

Features:

• The heat shield for the water cooler hose protects the cooling water hose and the cooling water from the heat radiation of the manifold
• There is a risk that the cooling water will be additionally (unnecessarily) heated up by the radiant heat of the manifold the risk of the engine overheating
• Together with the heat protection tape, the heat protection plate has a reflective and insulating effect against heat radiation
• Simple assembly at the existing screwing point
• Heat shield, aluminium carefully processed, precisely edged, black matt powder-coated
