looked for a replacement battery and Nippy Normans had exactly what I wanted, it even had the picture of the battery with the R18 giving me confidence this was the right battery for my bike. I was pleasantly surprised at the price expecting it to cost more than it was,

Fits perfectly in the space vacated by the original BMW unit. Many R18s (Mine included) are ridden only occasionally, have trackers and alarms which unless topped up with a battery saver 24/7/365 will result in battery deterioration at pace, as with mine. This unit has 30Ah capacity, uprated from the 26Ah original. This ensures a larger capacity and technically longer between charges if left without charge. It also and this is very important has 430A Cold-Cranking capacity versus the original 400A. Anyone owning an R18 will realise just how much power the cranking at start takes, particularly in cold weather. All this and £125 versus the £224 for the genuine BMW unit.
