I added this as I felt that it would offer stability when it was on rough ground. Unfortunately my bike looks more upright than I would have liked even with just the small difference that this footpad makes. Maybe the XR is quite upright to start with. Also the garage managed to drop the bike when moving it as the rubber caught on the ground as they wheeled it which has made me more wary yet. Great on a different bike maybe

It’s very fiddly to cut and stick the double sided tape into the extender plate prior to fitting. After fitting I half expected the whole thing to fall off as it doesn’t seem to be a particularly secure fixing with tape and three tiny grub screws. But definitely use thread lock as per instructions. So far it had stayed on and it certainly makes a big difference to the amount of ground contact. It’s well made and gives confidence that the bike will stay up, but normal sensible caution as to where you leave your bike should still be taken. Overall four stars cos it doesn’t seem as secure as the one I fitted to my old GS / Old Mans Bike!

This part fitted just prefect as they always do , makes the side stand slightly larger and stops sinking in the ground much harder

BMW should have made the foot of the side stand much bigger on the S1000XR as the standard one is inadequate. That said, this does the job very well but an expensive piece of kit none the less hence only 4 stars. Even after using Loctite on the grub screws mine still work loose so regular checks are required.

A good secure fit to S1000XT providing a much more secure footing to side stand

Excellent product. Easy to fit -took five minutes. Just remember to Loctite the provided grub screws. Once fitted it definitely increases the size of the side stand foot by a considerable amount, which provides peace of mind when using the side stand, especially on soft ground when you would need to use a puck. Recommended.
