The rack is a great addition to the bike, though finding a (cheap-ish) bag that fits around the curved backrest is a challenge! According to the info supplied, it can only take 2kg, or 1.3kg if you include the weight of the rack itself, for stability reasons, which isn’t much… A template would have helped with installation. The price is high for what it is, and half price equivalents are available from China, as always, if you can wait.

Very well made and a Great fit only Problem is there seems to be a bit of Pitting from where the Rack has been Dipped not an awful lot but don't expect this when you pay £189!! Otherwise Very Happy

Another quality product form Nippy's and Wunderlich now fitted to the bike. Deep breath before drilling the holes! but no worries, everything went well and it looks very neat on the box, glad I went for the chrome finish as it complements the details on the bike nicely.

The rack is well made and fits the large top box perfectly, easy to instal and looks good, applied smear of black silicone to top washers. Only thing missing in the instructions is a Torque setting for the bolts. Applied Loctite thread lock to each bolt after ensuring all aligned well and a trial fit, and then tightened diagonally in rotation to take up the play, then just nipped them. It is important only to put each bolt in loosely until each bolt is installed.

Our 'special' RT has a colour coded1600 GT/GTL box. Thanks to the continued good service from the NN team we received a first class rack. Having fitted one on a 1600 GTL, my brother in laws, we strongly advise the use of a 6mm "wood brad" drill rather than a 3mm then 7mm HSS drill as per the Krauser instructions. This has a brad point and very sharp edge cutters producing a very clean and precise hole in one go. Note: having placed the rack in the right poison on the masking tape and marked the 'feet' positions pay special attention to the angle of the legs and drill, slowly, to suit each leg. Don't worry, if the bolt is a little tight or slightly off the correct angle you can adjust this using the same 6mm wood brade. Not a bad idea to put a little thread lock fluid on each bolt but take special care not to over tighten or box lid may develop cracks! Good luck and enjoy.

Having now got the rack on the bike, the bike's appearance is greatly improved as well as adding more carrying capacity. The quality of the product is good. Great service from Nippy Norman's too. Would recommend.

This rack was OK at best, chrome finish and welds not as perfect as you would have expected from a product with this price tag! Also no template supplied for fitting, though really none required as you can position the rack on top box and mark holes quite easily to suit your preferred location. That said it is still the best looking product I could find on the internet and very useful for additional luggage space for two up touring.
