It’s not cheap but with having Optimate products in the past I didn’t mind paying knowing there wouldn’t be any issues with it. My last USB charger needed rotating to get a proper connection but the Optimate just works whatever the position. I use the side port and have cable tied my Quad cable so it fits in without blocking the TFT screen. I do remove it to prevent theft but it’s easy to just pop back in. I am happy with it.

Good piece of kit, worked reliably. One consideration; when parked after ride remove charger from socket as radiant heat from left cylinder with quickly heat charger.

The Optimate DIN to USB charger is a well-made piece of kit. It fits snuggly in the socket, and doesn’t move about or fall out like some of the cheap adapters available on eBay. It has two sockets with waterproof gaskets so that the rain doesn’t get into the unit around your USB leads. The sockets are at 90° so you have options for the most convenient positioning on your bike. You can usually position it so that one of the sockets is pointing downwards to further prevent the rain getting in. It has an indicator light to show you it’s working, and has a good feature that allows the adapter to stay powered up after you turn the ignition off for a period of time to maintain power to whatever you’re running, but not so long as tonflatten the battery. It’s a very good piece of kit, avoid the cheap eBay ones and get this.

After checking the fuse for power outlet (needed replacing) all worked well for my trip to France to charge satnav, phone etc.

I have only used it once and charged my iPhone. I will have a better idea when next on an over night trip. It fits nice and tight into socket on bike unlike others I have used. Please with my purchase
