Purchased this to protect the paint on my panniers no matter what I did including heating it gently it would not match the lines of the pannier at all on one side and it was badly creased like it had been folded at some point.. Ended up binning the kit waste of money :(

Not fitted yet as Auto Curators of Tilney /Rotherwick are to fit this for me as part of their work when ceramic coating the bike . Where the film goes the ceramic coat is omitted to ensure good adhesion . I’ve used other XPel film before and found it v helpful and these panniers need a bit of anti boot scuff protection this seems to be a good product

fitted ok, some small air bubbles which haven't been possible to remove. But from a short distance reasonably invisible. Use the spray water judiciously! But for the cost and decrease in cosmetic appeal I'd be inclined to take the inevitable boot scuffs and get the trim resprayed later for sale. Not worth the cost or effort IMHO.

Applied them as instructed, lots of water with a drop of fairy liquid even using hair dryer bur regardless of the care taken I was not able to avoid some crinkles that were impossible to remove making the finish look less than perfect. That said, they will still hopefully stop my other half kicking the paint of the panniers when she mounts and dismounts.

You cannot use too much liquid to apply. Bad luck getting crinkles - we can send on a new set if you like free of charge.

I must admit I was a little daunted taking the old ones off and installing the new ones from Nippy Normans. Watched a few YouTube videos on removal and went for the "caramel wheel" method and glad I did. Cleaned up the area and removed the old protectors and stubborn adhesive with panel prep solvent. Watched the installation YouTube video and with some care and the use of a hair dryer, I got them on, the hair dryer is your friend in the as are a couple of sharp pointed scalpel blades....

I bought the kit to protect the panniers on my new bike. Read the enclosed, and other on-line instructions, and followed them closely, including using a hairdryer to soften the plastic. Despite the care taken, I was unhappy with the results (small crease lines and tiny air bubbles) and ended up removing them. Whilst I have applied films before, I should make it clear that the problem could be me, but due to the shapes and curves of the panniers, unless you have plenty of experience doing this, it is quite tricky to get a perfect finish. Great service from NN.

Simple but hopefully affective bit fiddly to put on and instructions not the best in regards to pictures showing where they should be but you make your own choice.
Take your time use plenty of water making sure you have no bubbles as if you remove after you have smoothed them down hard to get of and they stretch.

Bike new Less than 100 miles and panniers marked already ( wife). Fitted the clear pannier paint protectors with no fuss at all, the advice of using the hair dryer certainly works. Once fitted the protectors are not easily noticed, it’s only with close inspection you can see them. Very pleased with the product

If you follow the instructions - especially regarding ambient temperature, the use of a soapy water spray and of a hair dryer - it's fairly straight forward. Gives excellent protection for that vulnerable pannier paintwork.

Good quality product you don't need any skill to fit these just read instructions, wash up liquid and water (warm) and on curved edges hair dryer might be useful I fitted these in my house not garage as inside temperature was 19 degrees. I had my panniers in the house for 24 hours to warm them slightly.

Not difficult to fit, but a hairdryer to soften them up helps to get them to lie flat against the curves.
When done, virtually invisible to the eye.
They don't cover all the pannier areas I want protected, so I supplemented with Oxford Paintsaver (which is thicker and more obvious - but jolly robust against scrapes)

Agree with other comments about the temperature, although I couldn’t fit them without lots of little air bubbles being trapped, not sure of the technique for stopping this. However, it is preferable to the paint being damaged during my upcoming trip.

Pity this set is for the 1600GT and the RT because as an RT owner,it means that I am paying extra for the 3rd piece of film that I can't use.The film itself is good enough to do the intended job,if a little thinner than other films I have used.It's easy to fit provided you use a hairdryer.

Paint protector sheets went on easily but it's important to follow the instructions to the letter. The only thing I didn't have to do was use a hairdryer as it was the hottest day of the year! No, I don't know where the small third piece goes either because it doesn't fit my panniers. Now that they're on I can hardly see them. Only dropped one star for the third piece.

Was pretty easy to install, especially using a hairdryer on low heat. One word of warning though...it comes with an applicator tool to smooth down the film and remove the water. Cover it before you use it! Don't use it straight onto the film otherwise it will leave scratches in the film, which kinda defeats the object.
Find something appropriate, maybe a micro cloth to cover the tool and the rest is easy.

A little tricky to fit, temperature has to be right. Hairdryer helps, but can stretch the protector if too much pressure is applied. Actual protection is first class and, even with a few tiny air bubble they are almost invisible. Worth the time effort and money.

I bought these before a 4'000 mile trip through Europe , I followed the instructions and they were very easy to fit, I kicked my panniers with my boots on a number of occasions on the trip , when I got back I cleaner the panniers and rubbed the black marks off with WD40 and they are like new, they don't stand out it just looks like you have given them a really good polish, highly recommended going to buy the tank versions now

When i ordered these I imagined that fitting them would be a bit of a challenge. It wasn't. You'll need to have a water spray bottle, small squeedge and small towel (I used a clean, unused dishcloth) and a little patience but otherwise follow the instructions and it's easy. Took me 20 minutes to fit to both panniers.

Easy to apply with a little patience and really does protect the panniers from clumsy pillions. A spray bottle with some soapy water does the trick, make sure you follow the instructions spraying the glue side and a hairdryer can come in handy to warm the film on the curves. All in all, took me 30 minutes to do both panniers and I'd highly recommend it.

The protector at position 1 on the side does not match the shape of the pannier for my 2014 RT. It still fits ok but just doesn't mirror the shape of that section as the lower cut out is not the same. Otherwise all stuck on easily and looks good - ie not visible!

A good product that is quite tricky to apply without getting any air bubbles, the applicator might be better with a slightly softer edge as it can mark the ventureshield if too much pressure is used. A pannier top cost me £90.00 to get some scratches resprayed so well worth protecting.

The easy to follow instructions mean this product can be applied and reapplied several times until you are happy with it's positioning. Once left to dry it looks almost invisible from as close as a few mtrs away. Considering the cost of respraying scratches, this is a few quid well spent!!

Fitted these in preparation for road trip in Europe and having just returned can say they are worth every penny. Protected panniers from scuffs of boots and bags. Found them easy to fit following instructions just liberally spray soapy water and wrap applicator in sponge to prevent scratching in application. Advice to use hair dryer in other reviews helpful. They are very much invisible unless closely inspected. Subsequent washing of bike has not caused protectors to shift or lift.

Instructions are clear enough even if not specific to the panniers (mine had pictures of the tank kit). Definitely worth ensuring the temperature conditions are correct (I did mine indoors) and having a cold/hot hair dryer available to help when dealing with the curves and removing any bubbles/creases at the edges.
I would recommend starting with the smaller pieces to get the wetting and application technique correct before starting the larger pieces.
End result is excellent lack of visibility and time will tell just what protection they provide.
