I’m not surprised they arrived looking a bit 2nd hand…the packaging was shite. For just about £100 I do feel a bit ripped off.
One of them has a few dents in it. The other has definitely been fitted to a bike at some point with clear evidence of biscuit crumbs and greasy hand prints all over it.

well made item fits no major problem, they made a big difference to the ride comfort i'm 6ft 1, they give you a more upright riding position.
only negative comment handle bar front fixing hole is much larger than the bolt supplied this isn't a problem in fixing every thing clamps down tight and is well secure it just doesn't sit right with me i will make up a top hat insert to take up the clearance so 4/5 on the rating supply a top hat insert 5/5

The finish is very good. They were easy to fit . Had no problems with the cables. They have made a great improvement to me riding more comfortabley being 6ft 4. Tall

Nice position of the bars higher and closer, giving a more upright riding stance.
I fitted longer bolts into the yokes to match the original thread engagement. They do not call me steady Eddie for nowt.

Fitted perfectly and improved the riding position, on a 2012 GS. The risers raise the bars 15mm, not 40mm, and bring them back 30mm, the risers took only a few minutes to swap, life is made easier with two people. The handlebar angle had to be altered so it didn't foul the tank, which also entails repositioning the throttle unit, brake and clutch levers, also the mirror mounts. The clutch pipe can be drawn through a cm or by cutting the cable tie that fastens it to the frame near the far end. Have done a couple of hundred miles now, very comfortable.

Grande qualité, très facile à monter. La gaine d'embrayage tire un peu mais en coupant le collier rilsan au niveau du cale pied gauche, on récupère le peu qui manquait. La position est maintenant parfait, plus de douleur aux épaules après un long trajet.

Fit perfectly and transformed the riding position for me (I'm about 5'11", or 180cm, and the stock position was an awkward stretch that caused me pain in the upper back after a few hours of riding). I wish BMW would make these a factory option, or at least make the brake hose 1cm longer - more about that below! Note: on a 2012 GS, these risers raise the bars 15mm, not 40mm, and bring them back about 30mm, which is about ideal for me).
The risers took only a few minutes to swap. No issues with anything touching the tank, once I got the bar angle right, and I didn't have to re-route the throttle cable. You can pull the clutch hose thru about a cm or two by cutting the cable tie that fastens it to the frame near the far end, and that is plenty. The brake hose, however, is at its limit on left full lock - not exactly straining but it would be nice if it were 5-10mm longer! The instructions say you can reroute the hose to the outside of the fork tube, but that does not seem to be even slightly desirable on a 2012 bike (look at the angle of the hose ends to see what I mean); luckily it doesn't seem to be necessary (on my bike, anyway).
FYI, the Haynes manual gives the torque settings as 36Nm for the front bolts and 16Nm for the back bolts.

When I first fitted the risers I couldn't feel much difference but I've had them for three weeks now and my elbow isn't aching as much so they must be making a difference as they are all I have changed . They are a good quality product and fit in well with the quality of my bike well done

Fitted these to my bike which is the last of the Air Cooled model Adventure, gained a much more comfortable riding position and I firmly believe that the handling through bends has been improved.. Take your time fitting, use 2 people or protect your tank. You must get the angle of your bars correct otherwise the hand guard clamps will hit the tank. I had to push these clamps towards the ends of the bars to get the clearance(the guards are pretty flexible)I also had to remove, adjust the routing and re-tywrap the brake/throttle cables and push the mirror/switchgear clamps 5mm towards the centre of the bars to gain enough cable clearance at full lock.

After limited use so far, I'd say these do what they say on the tin. I have a more upright position which I prefer. Fitting was strightforward (I'm no mechanic!) but I had to source Nm values from BMW as none came with the fitting instructions. You'll need various tools including torque wrenches. It's easier to fit with another pair of hands eg the Mrs.

I have a 2012 GS Adventure. I believe it had the original bar mounts. These risers have raised the bars by about 15 mm and moved them back by 30 mm. I had looked closely at the photos before buying and so expected the 15 mm on my bike rather than the 40 mm advertised.
Installation. I took the tank off and pulled forward what little slack there was in the clutch hose. I re-routed the throttle cable through the risers. The clutch and brake hoses are at their limit on either full lock. So no cables need replacing.
Ergonomics. Very personal but these risers transform the bike (in conjunction with a Sargent seat, lower pegs and Laminar Lip on the screen).
Aesthetics. Very well finished. Look OEM. Look great on the bike.
Highly recommended.

Fitting these was very easy and I was done in under 10 mins. Didn't have to change any cabling either. Bars are now in a better position and I feel more relaxed on the bike. Very good quality design & build. Would be happy to use this make again if needs be.

The risers have a very nice finishing and look like an original part. It are really easy to install, 10 minutes maximum. It take a little bit longer and test and try until you find the right position on the handlebar.
I got what I was looking for, bring the handlebar towards my body to have the elbows more flexed to avoid fatigue and to grip the handle very tight. Now my bike is more reactive to the counter-steering and I have less tendence to block the steering.
Very happy with the product.

I am very happy with this part; it brings the handlebar towards me so I do not have anymore this small pain in my back I use to have.
I didn't have to do anything with the cabling (only adult the orientation of the brake cable).
I really recommend this product if you look for a more relaxing riding position.

I was very pleased with the quality of the risers and the match to the existing finish. They took around 30 mins fit. Don't forget to protect your tank / instruments when you rest the handlebars before fitting the risers (sorry to state the obvious). There are two washers left over which seem redundant, but I guess they are for other models (mine is a 2010 Mk 3). The cables did not need adjusting or re routing at all. The mirrors did need adjusting afterwards.I'm not that technical and I wasn't sure where to leave the gap when the original top clamps were fitted to the new risers.I chose to the back i.e the instrument side which seemed fine. I have a small Touratech day tank bag which did fit fine afterwards but I would recommend that you check first if you have a full size tank bag. I have a bad hip and the resultant riding position has helped a lot. The screen on my bike is at it's highest setting, I'm not that tall at 5 foot 7 inches band and I did notice a small amount of increased buffeting around my helmet but nothing to be much a problem. Overall excellent and recommended. Thanks.

O produto é de altíssima qualidade. Serve com perfeição. É preciso um ajuste perfeito nos cabos. Os dois parafusos mais grossos eu substitui por maiores. Ele não chegava até o final da rosca. Este sistema melhora a pilotagem, trazendo para traz o guidão e eleva apenas 0,9 cm em relação ao original. O ajuste é facil, mas é bom ser feito por um mecânico especializado. Ótimo produto.

One of my best top 5 mods I've made to the bike.I'm 5'11 & now my arms/wrists sit on the bars perfectly.No aches or pains what so ever over long distances. A much more natural position with no more leaning forward,keeping your back/bum in a more comfortable position.

Very easy to fit took 10 mins.
Nice and comfy riding position now. Only down side, I have an old style BMW tank bag which now can't be used. Try pals new style and thats OK.
