Bought this mudslinger as have had one in the past, absolutely first class quality, easy fitting and once fitted looks like stock.
Stopped all the crud hitting rear spring and surrounding area.
Ridiculously expensive but perfect fit and finish, does what it says on the tin.

Quality product, comprehensive instructions and mounting parts. Works well, excellent fit. However, it is a bit of moulded plastic and some plastic rivets so the retail price should be half what it is given it will have cost very little to make. Welcome to GS ownership!
No issue with Nippy Norman service or delivery.

Fit and finish were what stood out straight away. It’s clearly been designed properly for the R1300GS, hugging the rear wheel area neatly without looking like an afterthought. I’ve tried other guards in the past that felt like a compromise, but this one integrates well with the bike.
Fitting it was straightforward. The instructions suggest removing the rear footpeg on one side to give yourself a bit more room, but in reality that wasn’t necessary at all. There was plenty of access to get everything lined up and secured without taking the peg off, which made the whole job even quicker and easier than expected.
Out on the trail or on the road it does exactly what you’d hope. There’s a big reduction in the amount of muck flung up onto the shock and underside compared to the standard setup. After a wet or muddy run, the back end is noticeably cleaner, which means less time spent scrubbing everything down afterwards. I’ve also noticed the backs of my boots are much cleaner after a wet road ride, and there’s far less spray hitting the back of my legs, which makes a big difference in typical Scottish conditions. More importantly, keeping all that grime away from key components should help in the long run with wear and corrosion.
It also feels properly sturdy. Gravel, spray and the usual road debris haven’t caused any issues, and it doesn’t rattle or shift about. It’s not going to stop absolutely everything in extreme conditions, but for normal riding in Scottish weather it makes a real difference. I do think these are very expensive for what they are but to be honest it’s worth the money so can’t complain.
For anyone riding an R1300GS through wet roads or muddy tracks, this is a worthwhile addition. It’s one of those upgrades that quietly does its job every time you head out, and you only really appreciate it once you see how much cleaner the bike stays afterwards.

Well made and easy to fit.
It cuts down a bit of the spray coming up from the rear wheel, but not totally.

Great asset to reducing spray and muck hitting shock and lower trousers.
Looks actually added to lines of the bike.
Effective and recommended

This is a nicely designed piece for the bike but why it has to cost as much as it does is a mystery to me. It is a well engineered piece of plastic that should cost a third of what it does.
NN SAYS - Thanks for your feedback David. The tooling costs over £50,000 - hence the price. It is not blow moulded like cheap alternatives but injection moulded which means it is stronger and can have the re-enforcing bars on the reverse. Hope this helps to justify the price?
