Functional and works well. However, the satnav does sit well above the BMW mount so it looks a bit 'clunky'. Also, although locked in place it would be a 30 second job to prise the satnav and charging block free with a screwdriver as access is very easy

Further to my review - Having just been out for a ride with the adapter fitted I found that because it fits low in the mount it actually hides the indicator warning on the dash. Very disappointing on an item of this price. This would bring my rating down to 3 stars but having given a rating on the first review it appears I can’t change it?

Initial thoughts- small and neat, hoping that this lives up to the Wunderlich reputation in that it’ll work but it’s expensive.
No instructions enclosed, so had to resort to You Tube and find a Swedish guy giving an abbreviated instruction video.
Assembly - Not difficult as it transpires, but initially faced with a black box, 2 screws, and a bit of black plastic it made me scratch my head a bit.
Fitting and operation - Once assembled, a straight and easy fit. As another reviewer stated it sits low on the BMW mount, exposing the locking mechanism to open view and the elements. I would have preferred it to sit higher and look more part of the machine instead of an obvious modification, and quite honestly for the cost I expected better. However, true to Wunderlich’s credit it fits well and works.
This is my 4th adapter for the bike, the other 3 have been from an alternative company which either cracked and broken, or not fitted, so the Wunderlich model for all its unsightliness is a success.

Great whilst it worked and got me all over Europe with my Garmin XT2 but packed up in the heavy rain on the Isle of Man once I got home.
I’m guessing it’s not very waterproof which is a real shame.

The adapter is easy to fit and works well, the sat nav is secure and appears safe from being tea leafed. Initially the adapter unit was a very tight fit in the BMW nav preparation but is now easier with use - much better that being slack!
The only slight downside is that the satnav sits quite proud of the mounting plate but this does not affect the operation of it. The adapter is for power only, the handle bar controls do not control the XT

This adapter allows a TomTom 500/550 to be mounted on a BMW Navigator docking station. The TomTom gets power but there is no integration with the bike's display and controls. The adapter does what is claimed. Fitting is extremely easy. It would have been good if the adapter was a little thinner and, more importantly, if the TomTom could have sat higher when fitted. It's OK as it is, but higher would have been better both for viewing and for integrating with tank bags.

Well made and easy to fit to the Garmin and to the bike. Feels secure. Some might feel due to the thickness it brings the satnav screen a bit close to the rider. Overall very happy with it and the Nippy Norman’s service.

Fitted and worked well. A lot of money just to save wiring in another power lead. Pity it doesn’t have canbus functionality as well.

Thoroughly recommend the Wunderlich Garmin adapter. Works perfectly, unlike the cheaper 3DAM version I tried originally. I guess you get what you pay for. First class service from Nippy Normans as always.
