Firstly the positives: Service from Nippy N was first class. The screen is well made, good quality materials and looks great fitted on the bike. However. Using the Givi mounting kit makes the bike virtually un rideable at anything above about 60mph. It creates a intolerable amount of buffeting around the head area, making it feel as though my head was being used as a punch bag whilst riding. It was that bad I had to hold the peak of my helmet in order to see straight. After some research I now understand that this is caused by low air pressure behind the screen meeting the high pressure on the front at the top of the screen creating this turbulent air. One solution suggested is to create a bigger air gap at the base of the screen to allow air to flow under the screen with the aim of balancing the air pressure between the front and rear of the screen and reducing the turbulence. This can be achieved by fitting some additional spacers to move the screen forward. I have so far tried 10mm at the bottom and 5mm at the top. It makes a massive improvement! How can Givi have got this so wrong?
