Sturdy well designed crash bars, Look well capable of protecting The bike and rider in the event of an off.

Gave me grief to put on. Starting with mounting points being BMW crap quality duraluminium engine mount bolts, one came out easy, the other snapped inside the thread. Good lord ! Following heck of a lot of drilling and then re-tapping the thread , both sides went on. Bottom mounts misaligned unless top is perfectly on. Wunderlich supplied bolts might as well be made of plasticine. Bars themselves look and feel solid. Shame about the mounting procedure. Cutting and drilling the inner fairing panels. Will see when it comes to servicing the air filter etc, see if removal will be necessary. Quick delivery, well packed. Not sure of worth the price though. Would expect better quality. Instructions are awful. NN SAYS Never had an issue with quality of Wunderlich fasteners before. Many BMW's surprisingly have frames that are not always consistently the same as far as fitting points are concerned.

Excellent product. Great delivery. Due to corroded bolt fitment was difficult but this was no fault of the product. Would recommend to others.

Both my wife and I have F800GT's and I thought I'd give them a treat with these crash bars. Mine turned out to be a real swine to fit as the instructions are a bit hazy. It said to mount the fairing then had to remove as had to take out the bottom fairing bolt, which was seized. Not a good day. Flip side is fitting my wife's went like a breeze as i knew what to expect. On the whole good product as they come in draw string bags, which will come in handy. And they look really good on the bikes. So only downside was the instructions so no 5 stars

The Wunderlich engine bars seem sturdy when fitted but the set I had took quite a bit of manipulating to get them to align with the fixing points. Also you need to drill more holes in the fairing than the instructions say.

Similar to above..instructions need to be revisited and rewritten as certainly not easy to follow..took two people to fit and had to tap a few holes out on underside to fit. Ball end allen keys are a big help. That apart the product is very good and well made and will fit running lights next.

Engine bar kit for F800GT John du Heaume on Dec 08, 2020

Engine bar kit, save fairing panels if you drop the bike plus useful to secure bike on a ferry or trailer. Instructions are minimal, check exact measurements because bolts and spacers are different sizes, main problem is removing the large T50 bolts that hold the engine in the frame, I had to go to Andy at AFB motorcycles to get them out, been in 6 years! Access to the T50 at the front of the engine is awkward, a ball end Allen key makes it much easier, the cross bar was 1cm too long, needed to redrill the 8mm hole. Cheers John.

We had our BMW dealer fit the bars, took about 2 hrs to fit. They look good and the fit is excellent, as stated a small bit of inner fairing had to be cut.

As previously posted, very poor pigeon English script and pictures. Need two people for this, as both inner and outer fairing needs removal. Don’t make the mistake we did by fully fitting the engine bars, only to realise the fairing won’t go back on. Took around 3/hours Very sturdy, well made German product, and will take additional spot lights. Much better than crash bungs.

Had the bars fitted by well known m/c large local to me. Engineer stated that the fitting was not as easy as the instructions suggested, some plastic on the inside of the faring had to be cut to accommodate the bars. However they look good and I have had fitted running lights onto the bars, also purchased from Nippy Normans.
