This is, as the website details say, a generic top box rack. It was not designed with the aluminium top box of the GS Adventure in mind, and it is wider than that box by about 2 inches/5cm each side. Mine was not supplied with any kind of fitting template, but it was easy to position centrally and mark up for drilling. I accidentally dropped the rack while doing this, and chipped the black coating in one small area, suggesting that it might not be as durable as claimed. The fittings are designed to achieve a leakproof seal at each of the four attachment points, and look as if they achieve this. I also discovered, however, that the thread in the rack at one attachment point had not been cut straight, and would not accept any of the bolts supplied. Fortunately, I found in my workshop an old BMW 6mm bolt with a much less aggressive thread than those supplied, and managed to use this. For what you get, and for its advertised 2kg maximum load, this is, in my view, an expensive rack, although it looks good once mounted.

I am very pleased with my top case rack it arrived very quick everything was all there with good instructions its now fitted and it will help loading my bike for a forthcoming alpine trip camping a lot easier thanks Nippy Normans

Very expensive for what is a top box extension so you can secure a rucksack or tail bag. If BMW would have built in some brackets on the vario luggage so you could strap down a bag then this wouldn’ be necessary, but they haven’t and this fits perfectly and does exactly what it says on the tin, but very expensive for what it is.

Easy to fit and appears well made. Given the thin construction of the top box I will not put too much weight on the rack.
