Highly delighted with this battery. Its patently obvious the extra power input to start my bike. I can actually hear the difference in the starter motor as it turns the engine over.

Fast delivery from NN. This battery is narrower than the original but came with foam strips to pack it out beneath the battery strap.
The install was very simple following the enclosed instructions but the hardest part was bending the bike leads from the vertical to the horizontal to fit onto the flat terminals on this battery.
The bike is laid up for winter now so the battery hasn’t been used in anger and as I’ve just fitted it I can’t judge how well it will last but it does fire up the bike quickly.
I can also keep it topped up with my BMW trickle charger via the onboard socket so come spring it will be ready to go.

Bought this battery to replace a non failing 2012 one. Having read many comments I was expecting the engine to spin over like it was on steroids, well that's not the case, it turns over no different to the oem one, that's not a complaint just my own experience. Perhaps with hindsight I could have waited longer until it did fail, only a looming European tour made jump sooner rather than waiting for the inevitable failure. Manufacturer's date was about 12 to 18months before I purchased it, hopefully this is taken in to account with 2year warranty.
Instructions were good on fitting. Speedy delivery and competitive price. All good on balance.

2 things, firstly I understood from the description that this item was not an exact fit for the RT but think it should have been made clearer that the battery is actually 10mm thinner and shorter and is not a good fit in the carrier. Then to add insult to injury mine arrived without the described rubber packers.
NIPPY SAYS:
Don't understand if you expected that the battery would be thinner why are you complaining. The point is that the battery has greater cranking power then the original battery

Arrived within two days. Instructions are brilliant, if a bit "tongue in cheek" at times!
My only observation is that to remove the old battery securing strap, you use a star bit, but the new battery uses Allen keys. Maybe change the new bolts to star bit to make it even more of a simple fitting.

As others have commented this is a direct replacement for the OE battery fitted to BMW's. Very slightly physically smaller but spacers required are supplied along with excellent instructions, clearly written by someone who has actually done this (and give a nice chuckle when reading through). It has screw terminals rather than bolt - but both terminals fitted easily. Battery works well and spins up the motor quickly even when left standing for a couple of weeks. Can't comment about its longevity at the moment but it looks to be a quality item and hopefully it will last as long as the OE one it replaced.

This is the 3rd battery on the RT. First one came with the bike and lasted 7 years with no problems oil the end when it wouldn't hold enough charge to even turn the engine - not bad really.
2nd battery was fitted by BMW and was an exide sealed unit - only lasted 3 years before not started to need a booster charge to get it going.
This latest Odyssey battery supplied by Nippy Norm was cheaper than the BMW one, and arrived in very quick time. Fitting is very straight-forward except I put a piece of high density foam in the base of the battery holder to lift the battery slightly and provide a bit more shock absorbtion. Performs fine so far with motor turning first time and engine starting was expected. Let's hope it lasts more then 3 years ...

Battery arrived quickley and was easy to fit. It replaced a 3 year old original which was becoming sluggish. The Odyssey seems to start the bike quicker and give it more oumph...I reccomend it

Battery replaced similar odyssey battery which proved powerful and fault free for 6 or 7 years. Supplied with rubber spacers and clear instructions making fitting quick and easy.

Only time will tell whether the battery is up to its hype. However I did not like the mushroom headed allen bolts supplied. How on earth are you to use crocodile clips with them? I did like the fitting instructions and of course the Nippy Norman service was of the usual high standard.

The light hearted instructions were helpful, and with the supplied foam strips the battery was very easy to fit. Crocodile clips will be hard to fit to the flush terminals I fear, but as my Optimate 3 is pretty old perhaps the 4 with the easy connector might be on the wish list. So far so good but time will tell. Great service from Norman as always.

This will be my third battery and judging by the reviews I've read it should perform better and last longer than the BMW/Exides I've used before. Used with a Optimate 4 (CAN-bus), it might be the last battery I buy.

Odyssey already have a good rep, so when my 07 RT on its original bty struggled to start after a freezing cold night outside, Odyssey was the only way to go. Easy fit, quick delivery and a 2 year guarantee what more could you ask for.

My 6 year old RT was getting a bit slow to get going as the winter cold cooled her parts so I replaced the OE with the Odyssey battery. The ordering and delivery was as easy and slick as ever from NN. The supplied instructions were spot on and nicely written (thanks) so fitting was exceptionally straightforward.
Since fitting it 4 weeks ago the RT has turned and caught with ease every time even after been cold soaked overnight at minus temperatures.
Only 4 stars as I cannot comment on the longevity.
