Winglets arrived promptly as described.The instructions are straightforward .On my bike It was simply a case of drilling small pilot holes with a dremmel from underneath, using the sub frame brackets as a guide. Then gradually enlarging the holes. One thing I would be wary of is the instructions to use a 7mm drill. The bracket holes are 6.5mm at most and a larger drill could easily bind and go skating across the bodywork. Take care.

No trouble fitting. Marked the hole location from underneath then removed the "beak" section then used a stepped drill to make the holes. They work really well. Very good delivery service too !

Great service and delivery. A good fit and with the 2009 model, you can drill from the underside of the body work (pilot hole) then drill correct size from up top. Good fit, although they could do with a small rubber washer to seperate them from the main bodywork. Seem to be effective.

Useful and practical accessory. Needs care marking out before drilling. Once fitted makes a good job of directing wind blast and more importantly rain and spray away from rider.

Look the part, not sure how effective they are though as I can't tell difference. I suspect they do cause the bike to catch the wind a bit more though.

Easy to fit and does a fabulous job of stopping the buffeting!
When fitting, feel underneath for the holes through the metal brackets and make sure you drill through those otherwise you'll be filling the plastic with holes while you try and find them from the top.

The pre drilled holes line up with the frame holes in the DOHC R1200GS ie 2010 so ignore the template provided. You will need to remove the tank side panels and the beak to drill but before I removed it I used a pencil to mark through the position of the frame holes on the underside of the beak. Then I removed the beak and drilled through carefully from the back with a sharp drill resting the beak on some fairly solid foam to make sure I didn't scratch the panel while drilling it. Then dead easy to fit the wingllets and they fit really quite solidly. In my opinion they would be better if the Lexan (or whatever it is) material was about 2mm thicker and this would not add significantly to the cost. If that was the case they would be worth 6 stars.

They are just fine. little fiddly to fit and making sure have correct drill bit. instruction/diagram didn't point out one is actually trying to line up mount screw with reciprocal holes under the fairing plastic. Instruction sheet could have been clearer.

These winglets are a dream once fitted. They neutralise the annoying turbulence that swirls from each side of the screen and ends up buffeting around your armpits. 08 GS’s onwards have the pre drilled bracket on the inside of the “plastic beak” that the winglets mount to. Easy to drill through from underneath using the pre drilled bracket as the guide. Little bit fiddly but well worth the effort.

Advised by BMW saleperson that Winglets would greatly improve my riding experience. Easy to fit, ignored fitting template and drilled from underneath through frame plate. Really reduced under-arm/chest wind blast, winter rides will be more comfortable.

relatively easy to install and helped to reduce wind blast around the armpit/chest area. Note: if you have a later model GS that has a metal plate with pre-drilled holes for the winglet bolts, then you need to ignore the supplied template and drill pilot holes from below. If there is a small gap between these plates and the beak (as there is on my bike) then the supplied bolts might be too short.

Excellent bit of kit - has made a huge difference by preventing buffeting when riding along fast open roads. These winglets were far more effective than a taller/wider screen I tried - buy with confidence you will not be dissapointed.

Having suffered from excessive turbulence around the bottom of my helmet at speed previous to fitting these winglets I was only to please with how comfortable my ride became so much so I can now ride with ease wearing an open face helmet.

In combination with Givi Airflow AF330 windshield, its just perfect.

These winglets fit & work better than the original BMW winglets which were cracked when I bought the bike.
They do make a difference.
