The horns are extremely loud which is just what I wanted for those rare moments I need to use them. Fitting the to the RT was not straightforward at all. The extra horn connector mentioned is not there on my bike (07 plate) so I had to "piggie back" one horn from the other and had to make a bracket to mount the second horn (an old cycle light bracket and some exhaust mounting metal strip did the job). They are a vast improvement on the original and what's more they were sent in recycled packing so a big win for NN there.

The loudest compact twin horn set in the world!

Manufactured exclusively for Nippy Normans to our own design. The 'MSX' stands for Motorcycle Specific Xtreme - this is a horn designed specially for the limited space on a modern motorcyle and with features that will withstand the harsh outdoor environment encountered on a motorcyle. This is not a car horn !
Now you can buy a twin pack of Magnum horns - one with low tone, one with high tone. Slightly louder than a single Magnum.

Look under ADDITIONAL IMAGES for photos of the Magnum twin pack installed on an R1200RT

Suitable for:

R1100GS
R1150GS

R850R/1100R/1150R
R1100RT/1150RS/RT
R1200RT - see below for more details
K1200RS/GT and most early BMW's.

For the F800GS, R1200GS, R1200RT, R1200ST, K1200S and K1200R use the Magnum or Nautilus horn.
Fit most larger Japanese touring bikes.
For modern Triumphs use the Magnum single packs in either black or chrome.
For other bikes check the measurements of the horns conbined - often one will fit but not 2 !

Not suitable for the more recent Can Bus wired BMW's - the 1200's (except for the R1200RT -SEE BELOW) and F650gs/800S/ST/GS - just not enough space! Go for one of the Magnum single packs in either black or chrome for these bikes.

R1200RT - notes from one of our customers.

"Pre 05 the RTs came with two proper horns fitted, post 05 RTs have all the wiring for two horns, but BMW just taped up the socket for one (see photos) and fitted a small pancake type horn in the location under the handlebars. So it is a simple matter of swapping out the pancake unit for one of the Magnums and installing the other on the front nearside (see photos). There is enough room and the Canbus does not have any problem driving both units after all the pre 05 RTs had two units and it seems BMW did not change anything other than taping up the second socket!!

If look at the RT forum on bmwlt.com http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=46 there is current thread running "Replace the wimp horn on my RT" with lots of details. People could go for the OEM bit and pay BMW prices or you could sell them the Magnums!!

Hope this is of interest to you, when I was upgrading my 08 bike I noted that your website said I could not fit dual horns, but when I found I could and how easy it was I thought I would let you know.

Regards

Toby"

"R1200RT - notes from another customers.

Two CAN-BUS leads are the easiest way to fit the horns:

The first Magnum horn uses the original BMW CAN-BUS connector, unplugged from the original horn, so a CAN-BUS adapter lead is needed.

The trick is that a second horn connector is already there on the R1200RT (except for models from 2011 onwards), it is taped to the front fairing frame tube with the wiring harness towards the left hand side. I just untaped it, used a second CAN-BUS adapter lead (ordered from you) to connect the second Magnum horn and voilà. No electrical problem whatsoever, nothing special, just push the horn button and a blast of sound comes out...

This is a much cleaner install than a siamese connection to the first horn lead and using two horns on one lead may cause the bike's computer to detect an overcurrent and trip."
