This mount was just what I needed, it took me an hour to fit, including wiring the GPS, and leaves no holes or marks own the bike. Highly recommended.

For design and value this bracket is the best on the market for the RT by some margin in my opinion.

Excellent product well made fits flush with the bike contours. The combined pictorial and written instructions are easy to follow. The mount gives good vibration free support with plenty of adjustment to suit most riders. I use a Zumo 550 and the power cable runs neatly under the tank trim to the battery but nippynormans do a power cable for the garmin that plug in the BMW wiring for the sat nav

Review of the Wunderlich High level GPS mount for TomTom Rider 2 on an R1200RT
Packaging and Delivery
The parts arrived very quickly and were well presented in a sturdy box with very clear instructions with several colour pictures. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words, and for dummies like me, I like everything explained in picture of one syllable.
Installation
After checking that all the parts were correct, it was just a matter of following the instructions. You will need to make sure that you have the correct torx/star screw driver set, especially when you come to undo the instrument cover, as the top 2 screws are located in a deep recess. Fitting the support bracket underneath the top instrument cover was probably the hardest part. It is always amazing how a simple instruction like attach the main bracket to the supporting bracket with the bolts supplied, can take ages. It is simply a matter of aligning the new clip nuts, with 3 separate holes, in the different pieces of plastic dashboard and mounting brackets. No sooner do you get 2 out of 3 aligned when one slips. The best way is to use a small allen key or screwdriver, push it gently into the holes from the top and give it a good wriggle in a circular motion to try and make sure that all the parts line up. Then hold it all together tightly as you very carefully put the bolt in and start turning it until the thread starts to bite. It wasn’t difficult so much as fiddly. You just have to be patient and not rush it. Once that was done the rest is plain sailing.
Operation
Adjusting the TomTom Rider 2 to get the best possible view is simply a matter of setting the angle when you are sat on the bike, with the 4 mounting screws set so that the angle can be changed without the device bracket slipping. Once you are happy with the angle they can then be fully tightened. I used the power cable from BMW to supply the power connection to the device bracket, which has the advantage of only powering up when the ignition is on, and auto powers off after 60 seconds when the ignition is switched off. With a tank bag fitted (I use the BMW one) the view to the TomTom is completely free. It also has the added advantage that you are not looking too far down, so that you are not taking your eyes off the road in front of you, which you could do if you placed a sat nav in the top of your tank bag for example. If you are able to get a blue tooth headset inside your helmet then that is safer still.
The overall quality is excellent, and it doesn’t look like a carbuncle sat on top of the dash. The only extra thing that I had to do was fit a “P” style release clip between the mount and the TomTom, just in case it should ever get bumped out of the holder and get bounced down the road. This way should it ever work loose then it will still be attached to the support bracket. I would add that in several thousand miles of riding, that this has never ever happened.
Conclusion
If you are the type of person who travels a great deal and need a sat nav, or who likes to have the latest gizmos, then this has to be one of the best GPS mounts for the R1200RT around. There are cheaper ones around, and cheaper ways of doing it, but for a top quality way of mounting your TomTom, you can’t beat it.

Finally the navigation device is positioned so that it can be seen. The rider does not have to turn his head away from the road ahead, and in tight traffic situations the device is only a quick glance away.
Standard navigation brackets attached to the upper fork clamp are often in the way of tank bags, and can make access to the ignition lock quite difficult.
